Qualifications
PREFERRED:
Education: Bachelor Degree in a Human Services Field.
Experience: One year providing mental health services to children and adolescents.
MINIMUM:
Education: High School Diploma
Certification: Is able to meet state requirements for a Behavioral Health Technician within a reasonable period of time.
Experience: Must be 21 years of age.
Skills: Ability to work cooperatively with agency personnel at all levels. Willingness to adapt to a constantly changing environment. Able to accept supervision and support, demonstration of strong sense of self-identity. Must have own transportation and hold a valid AZ driver's license.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Behavioral Health Technician provides a clean, safe, and secure physical environment, a healthy psychological environment, and ensures the health, welfare, and continuing development of children and adolescents in the care of La Paloma Family Services Inc.
The duties of the Behavioral Health Technician include, but are not limited to:
- Understanding and implementation of La Paloma's mission, values and code of ethics.
- The provision of culturally competent and sensitive interactions with clients and fellow staff members within sixty days of hire.
- Mastery of the computerized charting system within one month of hire.
- Mastery, within six months, of the Key Elements of Care, Specifically:
- The provision of Basic Needs
- The assessment of client strengths and weaknesses:
- The development of trust, nurturance and care:
- Demonstration of leadership, education and professional development:
- Demonstration of Creativity, flexibility, initiative and service:
- Demonstration of Cooperation and Teamwork among Staff:
