Internship

The internship program at La Paloma Family Services, Inc. is designed to facilitate the professional growth of interns. The goals of the internship include assisting the intern to become more skilled in the breadth and techniques of intervention with children, adolescents and families. We will provide an understanding of intervention strategies within the context of a chosen theoretical rationale. Additionally, the internship will familiarize interns with a multitude of issues that will involve them in the delivery of behavioral health services to children, adolescents, and families and in a variety of treatment modalities appropriate to working with this population. Emphasis is also placed on giving the intern exposure to the varied roles a professional plays in a non-profit behavioral health agency, including by not limited to administration, clinical training, program evaluation, and consultation.

La Paloma Family Services, Inc. offers an unpaid internship. Interns will be paid for mileage when they drive their own car to meet with clients. Interns will be required to complete a physical and TB test, drug screen test, and receive finger print clearance. Interns also must be certified in CPR and First Aid. The cost of each of these will be paid by La Paloma Family Services, Inc.

Interns are required to complete an intern application and a learning agreement with their direct internship supervisor.
